West End had many different shops through the years. They were on the High Street, Brentmoor Road, Gosden Road, Beldam Bridge Road and elsewhere.
Butchers, stationers, grocers, drapers, toys, hardware, haberdashery, a builder, decorator and undertaker, farrier, barbers, hair dressers, newsagent, convenience store, Persian groceries, dry cleaners, off licence, wine distributors, three blacksmiths, flower shop, a cafe, post office, bicycle repair shop and more.

Sadly, not many remain.
