The Village of West End

Tanya clockWest End is a village and parish in the county of Surrey, England. It sits between Camberley and Woking.  The Village has won the Best Large Village Competition (Communities Category) in Surrey for 2010 and also runner-up in Best Overall Village in Surrey 2010. West End was particularly recognised for its 'vibrant community spirit'. In 2011 West End won the communications award.

Village Fete 2010
There is an annual Village Fete in June held on the recreation ground and also a large agricultural and horticultural show in September.

Located in the borough of
Surrey Heath, West End neighbours West End Common, which includes training ranges of the British army. The River Bourne and Trulley Brook run through the village from their source in West End Common to the west of the village. The A322 runs North South through the middle of the village. It includes areas known as Donkey Town, Lucas Green, Halebourne, Nursery Green and Fellow Green. (See map details).

The village has two schools: the
Holy Trinity Church of England Primary School and Gordon's School which was built as a commemoration of Gordon of Khartoum. The village is made up of the old houses, a new estate and a selection of shops including 2 newsagents, a coffee shop, butcher, pharmacist, estate agent and a garage.  There is also a post office within Shiv's Newsagent, 2 pubs and a saddlery.
